This event is organised by the Sweden Alumni Network Georgia. It targets schoolchildren but is also open to all Sweden alumni. Alumni will get a chance to learn more about road safety but also to support the event as volunteers.
Public School in Tserovani IDP Settlement will host 2 information sessions for junior and senior students. School serves students from IDP (internally displaced persons) families who moved to this settlement after 2008 war and occupation of South Ossetia region by Russia.
Sessions will have tailored content according the age of schoolchildren. Session will have a quiz component too checking students’ knowledge about the topic and engaging them more in to the session. Presentations will be delivered by a professional lecturer provided by The Partnership for Road Safety Foundation and by SI alumni who went through prior training.
At the end of the session, Visibility Armband Reflectors will be given to schoolchildren. It can be easily worn on human body, clothes, bicycle, etc. and it helps drivers to identify moving object at night time and foggy weather on a long distance. Reflector is printed with the Sweden Alumni Network Georgia logo. Information posters will also be printed at visible places in the school.
Event will be concluded with conducting a practical event demonstrating to the schoolchildren how to use reflectors, safety helmets and minimize potential risks on road, also practical tools, like speed radar, special glasses simulating drunk driver’s visibility level and other tools will be shown to the schoolchildren.
