Online: Lecture -“Individual time”

This event is organised by the SI Alumni Network Ukraine and is open for all Sweden alumni.  

SI Alumni Network in Ukraine would like to invite you to a lecture “Individual time:  physics, biology, psychology and cultural environment”.

This lecture is based on the author’s book “What does your clock show?”, which is a viewpoint of a physicist on the fundamental concept of time, the peculiarities of its perception in the physical, biological, psychological and cultural systems of measurement. It is also a journey into the time mystery. You will learn where the physical time stops in the Universe, why fear slows down psychological time, and euphoria accelerates it. Also whether you can find the elixir of youth and extend your life, how accurate is the clock readings and what “now” means for people on different continents. We will discuss why time is irreversible, why we age differently and which simple means can help us to synchronize our rhythms.

Speaker: Oleg Dimitriev is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Semiconductors Physics, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Fellow of Swedish Institute. The author of the popular books “What does your clock show?” and “Sensible Universe” (both in Russian). His professional interests cover a wide range of issues such as hybrid materials, organic electronics, energy conversion, ecological thinking.
