This event is organised by the Sweden Alumni Network Argentina and is open to all Sweden alumni.

Eduardo Berezán, an Argentinian journalist strongly related with Sweden, will be presenting “Rey Se Ofrece”, a book he co-authored along with the late Ernesto Gontrán Castrillón. The book tells a story that took place in the early 1800’s, when Sweden elected Jean Baptiste Bernadotte as its king. During his time as King of Sweden and Norway, he proposed monarchy plans for Argentina, which was in the middle of its independence movement. The narration involves not only Jean Baptiste himself but also Johan Adam Graaner, a Swedish agent that was the only foreign participant of the famous Congress of Tucuman, which declared the independence of Argentina on July 9th, 1816. This greatly interesting history served as one of the starting points of a relationship that has lasted over 200 years between Argentina and Sweden.
