The Sweden Alumni Network in Georgia is inviting all alumni to a Clean Up Day to raise awareness about the negative impacts of use of plastic.
The Cleanup Action aims to clean the surrounding area of the Shio-Mgvime Monastery in Mtskheta Town in Georgia. Shio-Mgvime is a medieval monastic complex. It is located in a narrow limestone canyon on the northern bank of the Kura River, some 30 km from Tbilisi, Georgia’s capital. Due to many visitors, surrounding area of the monastery, is polluted with plastic bags and other waste.
Volunteers who would like to participate in this activity will be provided transportation and necessary tools (gloves, bags, etc.).
Cleanup action will be done in the framework of SI-funded Project “Awareness-Raising about Negative Impact of Plastic Bag Use”.
